7. Public Enemy, “Fight the Power”
It doesn’t get any better than “Fight The Power.” This is revolution hip-hop at its best. A classic made even more famous by Spike Lee’s use of the song in his 1989 film “Do The Right Thing.” Public enemy doesn’t mince words: “Gotta give us what we want, Gotta give what we need, Our freedom of speech is freedom or death. We gotta fight the powers that be.”
