3. Don’t walk under a ladder.
There are two possible interpretations of this myth about luck. In the ancient world, triangles were thought to be a symbol of life. An open ladder forms a triangle (either between the two sides or against a wall), so walking under a ladder was tempting one’s fate. Later, triangles were thought to represent the Holy Trinity, thus walking under a ladder was a bit of a snub to God.
