2. Beginner’s luck.
When a novice at a sport or other activity outshines veteran players, it’ often chalked up to “beginner’s luck.” Although it’s more of a grumble than a belief, this superstition may come from the fact that we are more likely to be impressed when a beginner excels, than when an experienced person does.
