5. Avoid ‘Minorities;’ Opt for ‘People of Color’
Gone are the days where Latinos and persons of non-European heritage were referred to as minorities; especially since they are growing to become a great majority within the U.S population. Even the American Heritage dictionary recommends the term over the less favorable sounding “minority.”
