- Glaciers Are Melting, FAST
On the opposite end of the spectrum, warmer temperatures are causing glaciers to disappear, as well as the glacial ice melts. Glacier National Park in Montana now only has 25 active glaciers, compared to the 150 glaciers that were originally present.
Climate Change Is Expensive
The U.S. alone spends a lot of money to try and combat global warming and lead the international community in the fight to reduce climate change. “Four global warming impacts alone—hurricane damage, real estate losses, energy costs, and water costs—will come with a price tag of 1.8 percent of U.S. GDP, or almost $1.9 trillion annually (in today’s dollars) by 2100,” according to a recent report by the NRDC.
