9. You may hear some new music to add to your iPod.
Sure, you can hear new songs on the radio or you can read about them in music magazines or blogs. But there is something about seeing a song come to life through dance that gives music a whole new meaning and impact. Plus choreographers are always looking for the next innovative artist or song to enhance their performance, so you’re bound to hear something new and interesting.
10. Dance brings a community together.
A dance recital is not limited to major productions, grand stages or the TV screen. Local studios are often a part of the community and all of the students are from the same neighborhood or school. Supporting that studio by attending a recital will also help support your community and equally important, will make you feel like you are a part of that community.
11. You might see some cool new fashion.
Fashion is almost as big a part of a dance production as the choreography itself. Dance studios and companies may experiment with unique fashion styles, colors and textures. So when you go to a recital you might see something you want to add to your own wardrobe. Or maybe you’ll see a whole lot of stuff you would never wear. Either way, it’s fun to look at.
