10. Use your card for delivered items.
When you purchase items that will be delivered at a later date, especially big-ticket items like furniture, use your credit card so that you are protected if something should go wrong with the delivery. A credit card allows you to dispute a charges when there are billing errors or when goods are not delivered. We promise you’ll wish you followed this advice when you buy a couch that never shows up.
11. Always pay your bills on time.
Not only will you get rewarded for paying your bills on time by earning a higher (better) credit score, but you will also be penalized for a late payment with fees and higher interest rates. Always know when your bill is due, and if it helps, set a reminder on your calendar, maybe even two.
