6. Walk Your Child Through Organization
Start with organizing the backpack and removing old papers, candy wrappers, etc. Make this a weekly exercise in keeping the disorganized mess literally off his back.
7. Lead by Example
Remember you’re the best example for your children. Make sure your own briefcase or bag is organized. Let children help you organize kitchen cabinets or drawers to teach them organization helps in every aspect of life.
8. Suggest and Guide, Don’t Nag
No one listens to nagging. After a brief time, no one even hears it. Guide your child, offer to help them organize but don’t keep harping on the topic or they’ll just tune you out.
