RHYOLITE, NEVADA
Near Death Valley National Park, Rhyolite sprang up in 1905 with the promise of gold. It had a school, a hospital, a stock exchange and of course lots of prostitutes. Things didn’t go as planned though, and people left within just a few years. It became an old-West movie set in the 1920s and luckily still has a number of buildings to see, including one made out of beer bottles.
