14. Practice Goodbyes
Leaving home for the first time can be a frightening experience for little ones. Let them help devise a goodbye routine that reassures them and gets the school year off to a good start. Practice saying goodbye and come up with a ritual wave or phrase that just the two of you share.
15. Ask your Child About Back-to-School Concerns
Don’t assume you know all of your child’s concerns about going back to school. Have a one-on-one conversation without siblings chiming in. Address each concern honestly and help your child face the school year with confidence.
