The Latino unemployment went up once again, hitting 9.4 percent, significantly higher than the national average. As scary as that number may look, there are steps to take to make sure you don’t become a part of that statistic. While these tips won’t guarantee you a job, they will definitely keep employers interested and give you a better chance of getting hired.

NETWORK, NETWORK, NETWORK!
This cannot be stressed enough! In a time where employers’ inboxes are being flooded with emails, you always have a better chance if you know someone who can help get your foot in the door. That is why it’s so important to develop contacts and to keep them! Search for networking events in your area. Have a business card ready to give someone in case they ever need to contact you. If you’re looking into a particular company, try to set up a coffee date with one of the big bosses or a someone from human resources. In the end, they will remember you over an attachment in an email.
