6. Junot Diaz
One of our favorite Latino writers, Dominican-American Junot Diaz wrote The Brief Wonderful Life of Oscar Wao. He also happens to be a creative writing professor at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. We have tremendous respect for this man.
7. Rita Moreno
In her self-titled memoir, Moreno candidly tells her story of how she made her Broadway debut at the age of thirteen, and then got to work with stars of her time including Gary Cooper and Yul Brynner. You’ll love everything from her affair with Elvis to the path she paved for Latinas in Hollywood for decades to come.
