The gender wage gap exists in politics as well. As of 2011, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission reported that men in politics earn an average of $48,830.50, compared to women who earn an average of $42,168.20 for a similar position. Not cool.

Women are now allowed to vote and run for office, but they still have to deal with discrimination. Who could forget Donald Trump’s mention of the “woman card” in his attack on Hilary Clinton? In a day when this card should not even exist or need to be mentioned, it’s still a big part of the argument as to why a woman is not fit to be president.
