According to the Center for American Women and Politics (CAWP), in recent elections (especially in 2000, 2004, 2008 and 2012) the “voter turnout rates for women have equaled or exceeded voter turnout rates for men.” Beyond that, “in every presidential election since 1980, the proportion of eligible female adults who voted has exceeded the proportion of eligible male adults who voted.”  In other words, the female vote REALLY matters, and could have a major impact on who our next president is.
