Unlike our parents’ generation, in our world parents make more of an effort to be involved in their kids’ lives. Parents talk more openly about subjects that in the past might have been relegated to taboo, such as sex or drugs. They encourage kids not to be afraid to discuss anything.
12. Making the Call
The advent of the cell phone was a fundamental game-changer when it comes to parenting. Keeping in touch via cell phones allows today’s parents to let their kids have more freedom and independence, but also gives parents the chance to keep tabs on their kids at all times.
13. Survival of the Fittest
Tighter economic times have had the positive effect of teaching parents and kids the importance of teamwork, and also provided a great opportunity to teach children about the value of money and the fundamental benefits of hard work.
