8. Don’t Tip-Toe
You already know it’s not always going to be a smooth ride when it comes to peoples’ reaction to your family’s dynamism. With that in mind, prepare your kids for any discrimination they may encounter—and better yet, teach them to handle it with grace and tolerance. “Rise above” should become a family mantra.
9. Create Your Environment
It’s great to choose a school that nurtures diversity, but if you really want your biracial kids to always feel at home, consider living in a racially diverse community, where colorful families are the norm, not the exception.
