10. Giant Buddy Holly Glasses
The Buddy Holly Center in Lubbock honors the famous hometown rocker with giant glasses immortalizing his signature geek look. Buddy died in a plane crash in 1959 and is buried in a local cemetery. In his honor, Budfest takes place every September around his birthday, which he hasn’t been alive to celebrate for over 50 years.
