14. Life of Pi by Yann Martel
Life of Pi is by far one of the best books for children. This fantastic journey is part Eastern philosophy, part magical realism and all of the things that teenagers like to think about as they continue to sort out the world around them. The nascent adult in them will connect to the main character’s soul searching and solitude, while the part that is still a kid will relish the animals and the adventurous side of the tale.
