12. You don’t want systemic Lupus
Systemic lupus is often more severe than cutaneous Lupus. It can affect almost any (and sometimes every) organ or system of the body. Treatment can involve a variety of specialists including cardiologists, nephrologists, neurologists and more to address the specific organ damage throughout the body.
13. There is presently no cure for Lupus
While the symptoms of Lupus can be managed with treatment and lifestyle modifications, it’s an incurable, sometimes debilitating disease.
