Anaya, one of our favorite Latino authors, wrote The Old Man’s Love Story and, to be honest, we fell a little bit in love with him ourselves. The story captures the love and grief of a man who has lost his wife beautifully and the author creates a work to be remembered.
3. Isabel Allende
For a million reasons you should already know the work of Allende but, just in case, Maya’s Notebook is a fascinating departure from her usual fare as she tells the story of a troubled young woman in need of some growth and self love.
