GOLDFIELD, NEVADA
Another town that thrived in the 1890s with the prospect of gold, Goldfield died and was reborn a number of times in the early 20th century. In the 1960s it was smartly reconstructed as a tourist stop and offers a lot of kitschy fun. Today you can visit the Superstition Museum, ride a narrow gauge railroad, and see people in period costumes reenact gunfights in the street.
