Christmas, Black Friday, and the January sales are a completely different planet. During the festive season, Oxford Street turns into a magical wonderland where shops sometimes stay open until midnight.
It’s glorious and terrifying. You can buy a cashmere sweater at 11:30 PM while a man dressed as an elf plays “Last Christmas” on a xylophone. True story—maybe.
But on Boxing Day and Easter Sunday, don’t even bother. Most shops are closed or running on a “we’ll open when we feel like it” schedule. That schedule is usually 12 PM to 6 PM, and it’s not worth the risk.
