Because El Mencho’s story is a wild, tragic example of how poverty and power can collide. It’s like watching a binge-worthy Netflix drama, except the blood is real and the ending is still unwritten. He’s a product of a system that gives some kids beans and machetes, and others satellite phones and Kalashnikovs.
But here’s the uplifting part: his story isn’t yours. You’re reading this from a comfy chair, probably with a cup of coffee or a phone in your hand. You have the freedom to choose your path—and you chose to learn about a drug lord instead of becoming one. That’s already a win.
A Final, Smile-Worthy Thought
So, where is El Mencho from? A tiny, forgotten village in Jalisco. And where is he now? Who knows—maybe he’s hiding under a tequila distillery or in a taco stand. But does it really matter? His roots don’t define his future any more than a bad hair day defines your week.
You get to write your own story. You can start your empire of kindness, your cartel of creativity, or your kingdom of coffee snobbery. And the best part? You don’t need a $10 million bounty to be legendary. Just be the person who brings snacks to the party, not the one who steals the chips.
And if you ever visit Jalisco, skip the cartel drama and grab some birria tacos. Those are the real treasures.
