4. Don’t hand them your empty plates—they’ve got a system for clearing. Feel free to stack plates on the table but, unless they ask, let them pick things up themselves. It’s when we interfere too much that dishes get dropped, and nobody wants that.
3. If the service is a little slow, be patient. It’s probably not their fault. Stuff goes wrong in the kitchen all the time but waiters are often left to take all the blame.
2. If you really liked your food, let them know. Praise makes people feel good. It will feel good to say it and they’ll feel good hearing it. Even if they had nothing to do with the food preparation, to know that you enjoyed your meal is awesome.
