Seafood is one of the best and most nutritional ways to support a healthy diet. The Get Real About Seafood campaign is committed to encouraging consumers to continue to add seafood to their diets.

Two recent reports including one from the World Health Organization recommend the general population and particularly pregnant and breastfeeding women, eat 2 to 3 seafood meals per week to help boost brain health and avoid risk of developing heart disease. Fresh, frozen or canned, all of these forms of seafood provide great benefits.

The American Academy of Pediatrics suggests starting introducing seafood to children as young as 4 to 6 months old. Below is a simple recipe for Tuna Soft Tacos that even children can help make that’s tasty and is an easy and nutritious way to bring more seafood into your family’s diet!

TUNA SOFT TACOS
Serves: 4

Ingredients
1 can (5 oz) drained or 1 pouch (2.5 oz) tuna
8 corn tortillas, warmed
1 cup shredded mixed cabbage
½ avocado, cubed
1 cup canned black beans, drained and rinsed
¼ cup Cotija cheese, crumbled
Salsa
Lime wedges

 Instructions

  1. Divide ingredients to fill tortillas.
  2. Fold and serve with your favorite salsa and a lime wedge.
