Before and after your workout routines it’s crucial that you stretch your muscles. Stretching before a workout helps loosen up your body so you can be more efficient right from the start, and stretching post-workout helps your muscles recover to avoid future injuries.

4. Keep Your Body Guessing
If you do the same old thing every time you walk into a gym, then you can’t expect to see different results. You need to keep you body guessing and surprise your muscles every time you workout. Try new routines, new machines, new positions, and new techniques. Take a high-intensity cardio class if you typically only do Pilates, or take up yoga if you’re a regular on the treadmill. Mix up your routine and make sure you balance cardio workouts with toning exercises, since building muscles you will burn more calories even when you aren’t working out.
