3. Too many teams?
In European soccer, the great number of leagues and teams is confusing, at least to Americans. In the United Kingdom (England, Scotland and Wales) alone, there are 485 professional and semi-professional teams. It’s too hard for Americans to follow this many teams. Comparatively, there are 32 NFL teams and 30 Major League Baseball teams. Maybe America doesn’t care about soccer because Americans just can’t follow a sport that is confusing!
