Ah, Fashion. One day it’s plaids, the next neon colors. The jacket length seems to change with the season as does the collar: popped, not popped, beaded, and plain. Yet most women’s closets contain at least one mini skirt. Back in the day, if your skirt was too short you were sent home from school. Minis weren’t worn in the office, and the height of the skirt was dictated by the extent of your daring. When asking yourself, Is my mini skirt too short?, the rule of thumb is that when standing with your hands to your side, the length of your fingers should not exceed the hem of the skirt. If they do, it’s a tad too mini.
Mini skirts come with their own challenges. Though many try, not everyone can carry one off. While wearing a mini, you’re resigned to leaving change on the pavement and are very careful getting out of cars. If you’ve got the nerve to try a mini, we applaud you. We promise to make no jokes about age, or weight, or who should or should not wear a mini.
However, these 8 telltale signs will let you know the answer to: Is my mini skirt too short?, is probably: Yes.
