8. You are often late.
This is a no-brainer. If you’re the last to arrive at work, you will be the last to get a promotion. Show up on time, or better yet, show up a bit early. Get a head start on your projects, show initiative and show you are responsible. Being tardy implies you don’t care, and that’s a fast way to sabotage your career no matter where you work.
9. You are careless.
If your work is sloppy it reflects poorly on your ability and your effort. Even if you have what it takes to produce perfect work in any field, if you don’t proofread, check your work and really take the time to ensure you deliver a top quality product then your boss will assume you don’t care.
