WHAT SEA MONKEYS REALLY ARE
Sea monkeys are a “product based on brine shrimp” that in 1957 (the beginning of it all) were called Instant Life. They gained popularity when they were fiercely marketed in comic books—yes, I got those too. They would portray them as smiling little creatures, wearing crowns and playing tag, which of course in real life, they did not!
HOW SEA MONKEYS COME TO LIFE
Even when they are still in the sachet they are sold in, Sea Monkeys aren’t really dead. They just go through a process that allows them to survive being desiccated and coming back to life when put in contact with fresh spring water.
