When we’re young, Peter Pan is our ideal boyfriend. He’s fun, playful and courageous, and he’s not afraid to take flight and pursue adventure. Then we grow up, and Peter Pan becomes the childish man-boy who can’t hold down a job and is never around if the surf’s up or there’s a new band playing—in a town 5 hours away. Thus Peter Pan goes from the ideal to that which should be avoided.
