On being grandmother to a three-year-old and eight-month-old:
I used to say I’m not the grandmother type. The Jews believe your children are your immortality, and they are right. You see your mother in them, you see yourself in them. I’m surprised at how much I’m enjoying being a grandmother. I’m inordinately proud of them.

On dealing with Parkinson’s:
As you can see it has not stopped me in any way. I sing. I dance…I entertain. I converse. I meet new people. If I can do what I have done with Parkinson’s, there is no excuse for anybody to not do what they want to do.
