Dennis Da Silva has been given a life sentence in prison after being charged with rape.
Dennis Da Silva, a former Actor, was sentenced to life imprisonment after the Pasig City Regional Trial Court found him guilty of 15 counts of rape.
His character grew after he was linked to Actress and former co-star Ruffa Gutierrez. However, it wasn’t long before his career was derailed when he became involved in drugs.
In 2020, Dennis was found guilty of 15 counts of rape and given a life sentence. He was also found guilty on four counts of abusing children.
Dennis, a former cast member of the 1980s variety show “That’s Entertainment,” was arrested in 2002 for raping his previous live-in partner’s 14-year-old child.
Dennis Da Silva Rape Case: What Did He Do?
Dennis Da Silva is charged with raping and physically abusing the 14-year-old daughter of his live-in partner in 2001.
In addition to the life sentence, Dennis was sentenced to four to six years in prison for four counts of child abuse.
He was ordered to pay the victim P100,000 for civil indemnity, moral damages, and exemplary damages, or P300,000 for each count of rape, for a total of P4.5 million. For each of the 15 counts of rape, the court’s Branch 7 recently imposed a perpetual reclusion sentence, equivalent to up to 40 years in prison.
For each of the four counts of child abuse, he was also given a sentence ranging from a minimum of 4 years, two months, and one day to a maximum of 6 years, one day.
The court also mandated that Da Silva pay P4.88 million in total to the victim.

Dennis and Tina could not see each other after the Metro Manila District Jail in Taguig City’s Special Intensive Care Area (SICA) was closed to visitors due to the coronavirus pandemic’s enforced quarantine in Luzon on March 15, 2020.
After spending four years in SICA, Dennis was sentenced to life in prison on February 7, 2020, by Branch 261 of the Pasig City Regional Trial Court (RTC) on rape and child abuse charges brought by his former live-in partner.
