Let’s be real: sometimes you need a break from the serious stuff. That’s where The Great comes in. This historical comedy is about Catherine the Great’s rise to power, but it’s so absurd it feels like a Thrones parody. Elle Fanning plays Catherine as a bright-eyed idealist, while Nicholas Hoult’s Peter is a petulant, peach-obsessed man-child who’s basically Joffrey with better hair. It’s funny, raunchy, and features a scene where a courtier’s head is used as a hat. Brilliant.
Also, don’t sleep on Galavant. It’s a musical, it’s a comedy, and it’s set in a fantasy kingdom where the king is a villain who literally sings about being evil. It’s the opposite of Thrones—no one dies in a tragic fire, and the dragons are just puppets on strings. But if you need a smile after all that red wedding trauma, this show is a magical reset button for your soul.
