We all look forward to summer vacation and lazy days lounging at the beach or poolside. In such a relaxing setting, it’s easy to forget the importance of water safety, especially when it comes to kids.
Each day, approximately 10 people drown. In fact, drowning ranks fifth among the leading causes of unintentional injury leading to death in the United States. The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) reports: “Drowning is the leading cause of unintentional death among children 1 to 4 years of age and it is the second leading cause of death for children from 5 to 14 years old.”
