3. You May Prevent Future Injury
If your muscles are tight and you are not flexible then the tendons around your muscles will also be stiff. Stiff tendons and ligaments result in a reduced range of motion, which means you are more likely to get injured when you push yourself beyond that range (aka you are physically active). In addition, if you are stiff then your body will compensate by putting stress on other muscles/joints, which could also result in injury. By making sure you stretch and focus on improving flexibility your entire body will benefit.
