A stretch goal is long-term objective that will take years to accomplish. One person’s specific goal might be to become the CEO of a large tech company. Another individual’s vaguer stretch goal might be to write a book. Once you establish a stretch goal, you can mark out checkpoints along the way. An immediate goal has a deadline and can be crossed off your map in a week. For writers, an immediate goal might to write six pages of their book.  Intermediate goals are broader than immediate goals and can have monthly or yearly time frames for their accomplishment. For example, taking a course in creative writing or applying at writers’ residencies in other cities.
