Inspiration to lose weight

Inspiration to lose weight

Kids proved to be a great motivation for this mom to lose weight!

Losing weight has been on the forefront of my mind since I was in junior high. As I sat “criss-cross applesauce” during P.E. and I noticed how much bigger my thighs were compared to the other girls, I thought of it. In my 20’s, when it was difficult to find a nice pair of jeans that fit over my ample hips and thighs, I thought of it. My life would be so much easier if I just lost weight.

Denise – I follow you on baby center, and I found your pear mama website and um, we are “friends” on FB…i’m not stalking you I swear! I just like your ideas and your writing… you “speak” to me! LOL

I’m “plush” too but I also want to be healthy and set a good example for my energetic 3 year old girl! I made the decision to also eat healthier and be more active during the holiday’s because I KNEW that their was no way I could start during the holiday’s. I hope that next year instead of saying that I’m going to lose weight I will be able to say I’m healthy and my resolutions next year will be something that does not involve my weight.

I already eat fairly clean but I have yet to cut every last bit of processed stuff. I love Mac and cheese and velveeta lol. So getting rid of those and cultivating a taste for yogurt are high on my list. I have 16 pounds to go from the 25 I started at so I will continue to bounce around in Zumba 4 days a week. I want to add some strength training and some perspective. I’m way too focused on what I actually weigh. I want to get to to where I happy with the way Iook and not care how much I weigh.

I love you just the way you are! You are gorgeous, smart, funny, talented and strong and thank you for not making it about dieting, thank you for making it about eating cleaner. You can do it! A great book I read and C and I lost weight about 5 years ago was The Fat Smash Diet written by a Dr. Promise me you won’t do diets, shakes, bars and pills!!!!!!!!! XOXO

In the past couple of months I lost about 15 pounds. It was partially due to my hubby losing weight and eating better, coupled with the stress of my mom being in the hospital for almost 2 months, and then dealing with Her death. It seemed like when that weight was gone, my carpal tunnel didn’t bother me, the morning aches and pains were gone and my occasional knee pain was gone. Now with the Christmas treats everywhere and my having zero will power, I feel like a few of those pounds have crept back on. The aches and pain are back and I feel yucky. I definitely know that something has to be done about the extra weight. I’m not getting any younger and it won’t be any easier later on. I am definitely going to work on eating better, and moving more. Lets do this Denise!! 🙂
