Hispanic female celebrities (or actresses who ‘look’ Latina) have a hard time getting an audition for parts that aren’t stereotypically Hispanic or “multiethnic” characters. Sofia Vergera is a perfect example as she has become known for playing up the Latina stereotype, something that may have backfired at the Emmys last month.
