Choosing Your Tools
If you’re working with powder, choose a fan brush like the Smashbox Fan Brush #22, which has natural bristles. The brush shape and low bristle counts allows you to control how you apply the powder more easily. If you plan to use a cream, it’s best to use your fingers (and be sure to wash your hands before doing so to avoid spreading bacteria into your pores). The trick of using your fingers is that they help warm up the cream so it blends more easily into your skin.
