1. Saying ‘I’m sorry’ is an acknowledgement of guilt
In fact it´s quite the opposite. It´s an acknowledgement of being human. In Alexander Pope´s words, “To err is human, to forgive, divine.”
2. She/he knows I didn’t mean it
Don´t be so sure of that. People too often make assumptions and if your behavior hurt someone, whether intentionally or not, there is nothing to lose and lots to gain (a strengthened relationship) by saying you´re sorry.
