Don’t go for the obvious stuff. Everyone will grab the TVs. You go for the weird discounts. Floor models of vacuums. Returned items at 80% off. Those are the real treasures.
Also, check your phone. Many stores have app-exclusive deals. You can order a discount while standing in line for another discount. It’s a discount within a discount. Very inception.
Pro tip: Wear comfortable shoes. I’ve seen women in heels fight for the last KitchenAid mixer. It’s not pretty. It’s gladiatorial.
The Funny Reality of 2026 Technology
By 2026, expect AI chatbots in the store app. They’ll help you find items. But they also ask, “Are you sure you need this?” Rude. Very rude.
Why the day after Christmas is called Boxing Day
Some stores use augmented reality to try on clothes. You wave your phone at a mirror. It shows you in a discounted jacket. Then an alarm goes off because the queue moved. Hilarious.
And don’t be shocked if a drone drops your online order in your backyard. Yes. Retail in 2026 is basically a sci-fi movie with better return policies.
