- Builds Self-Confidence
When kids help prepare a meal they feel a sense of pride in their creation and they learn how to contribute to a great goal. The final result (whether it is delicious or a bit of a disaster) is something he or she helped create as a part of the team. The confidence they will develop as a result of their contribution is something that will stay with them as they grow up and find other ways to participate in various group activities in and out of the kitchen.
