Governor Christie Slams Todd Akin

In an interview with George Stephanopoulos, on ABC’s This Week, Republican New Jersey Governor Chris Christie, stated that he didn’t think polls are skewed to favor President Barack Obama, as some members of his party have argued.

“You alluded to, do you buy this argument that some conservatives are making that the polls are skewed against Mitt Romney?,” Mr. Stephanopoulos asked.

“I don’t buy that,” Mr. Christie responded. “I don’t know if it’s — listen, I don’t think it’s intentional. I think, you know, you look at every different poll and look at its methodology and you can say whether it’s good or bad poll, but do I think there’s a concerted effort to skew the polls against Governor Romney? No, I don’t buy that.”

Mr. Christie, in a closing response also told Mr. Stephanopoulos that Republicans should not be supporting Congressman Todd Akin, who was heavily criticized and shunned by leaders of the Republican party for saying that women who were victims of a “legitimate rape” didn’t have to become pregnant because “the female body has ways to try to shut that whole thing down.”

Last week his opponent, Missouri Senator Claire McCaskill, released a video where Todd Akin argued that companies should have the freedom to pay women less money than a man for equivalent tasks.

Mr. Christie finally confirmed that he has no support for Mr. Akin, as he clearly stated shortly after Mr. Akin made the “legitimate rape” comments.
