9. Vegetables
Turns out your mom was right—it IS really important to eat your veggies. While many dieticians believe that eating anything in moderation is okay, vegetables are something you should eat regularly and you can never have too many of them. More really is more when it comes to greens like spinach, kale and broccoli. Think of your dinner plate as a clock and make sure that more than one half of your dish contains some type of vegetables.

10. Skipping Meals
Eat less, weigh less. Makes sense from a mathematical standpoint. But in reality, skipping meals is one of the worst things you can do in an effort to get healthy and lose weight. Your body needs fuel on a regular basis to run at full capacity. While skipping a meal might seem like you are saving calories, you are actually starving your body. This triggers your body to hold onto the calories you do eat, so you might end up weighing more, not less.
