15. John Wilkes Booth was an actor and Lincoln was a fan. Lincoln had seen Booth perform in a number of plays at Ford’s Theater and enjoyed Booth’s performances. Lincoln attempted to meet Booth on several occasions, even inviting him to the White House but, Booth, who hated the President, always sent back polite declines.
