The life story of Abe Lincoln, our 16th President, is well known. He was born in a log cabin in Kentucky, and became a lawyer and politician for the State of Illinois. As President, he led the nation through a terrible civil war and lived just long enough to see that nation begin to reunite. He is the “Great Emancipator,” having put forth the Emancipation Proclamation to free slaves within Union-held territories. But there a few things that you probably don’t know about Abraham Lincoln.
