2. Classic French Mussels Recipe
Okay, so maybe not all the French people smother their mussels in butter and call it good. We found this classic recipe to be surprisingly simple and really light and delicious. The sauce is made from heavy cream, white wine and (you guessed it!) butter and the mussels are best when served in a bowl with lots of the brothy sauce and nice hunks of crusty bread used to soak up all the juices left behind.
