You can bring a whole pumpkin pie through security. Not kidding. A pie is a solid. Even if it’s gooey. One traveler once brought a whole cheesecake. They just put it in a separate bin. The TSA officer probably just nodded and said, “Respect.”
But maple syrup? Forget it. That’s a liquid. So is salsa, yogurt, and that fancy olive oil you bought in Tuscany. Pack it in your checked bag, or drink it in the parking lot. It’s a sad choice, but it’s a choice.
