They didn’t blink. They didn’t run off crying, ready to give up. I still want to do that sometimes. Instead, they faced their problems head on. They turned their necessity into ingenuity, they prayed, they pushed each other, they pushed us, and they taught us what it truly meant to be thankful. For Thanksgiving Day I can’t think of a better gift than to share some of their lessons on how and why one should always strive to be grateful.
